Shark Tank Update: Beer Blizzard

company: Beer Blizzard

Founder: Mike Robb and Tom “Ozzy” Osbourne

season:Appeared in season 7

Beer Blizzard beats the heat by keeping drinks cold with one simple “ice cube.” Freeze the plastic disc and insert it into the bottom of the koozie to chill your drink. The founders told the Sharks earlier this year that using insulation and Beer Blizzard, cans of beer and soda can be kept cold for 21 minutes.

When they first appeared on “Shark Tank,” Rob and Osbourne asked for a $100,000 investment for a 20 percent stake. The Sharks' initial feedback included putting the beer company's name on the cube and narrowing its focus. They had offers from both Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner, but ultimately accepted Cuban's 25% contract for $100,000.

Where is the beer blizzard now?

Beer Blizzard has been a huge success since its debut on Kickstarter in April 2014, reaching its initial funding goal in less than a week and ultimately raising over $40,000. They recently debuted the Army Man Bottle Opener on their site and achieved a number of goals. After the “Shark Tank” episode was released, online sales skyrocketed, with the discs appearing at retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Bed Bath & Beyond.

They are also in the process of entering into a licensing agreement with NASCAR race car driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., which will allow them to use Earnhardt's name, car number and logo on Beer Blizzard Ice Cubes. Robb told Forbes. According to 2paragraphs, Robb and Osborne are currently in the process of achieving their ultimate goal of getting the product to breweries. Robb said wherever he ends up, it won't be a craft brewery, but rather a place closer to the “real beer” he drinks.
